SAFFT offers a unique service called Empowered that provides parenting and life skills classes to all types of families and backgrounds. The Empowered program is designed to offer individuals and groups the education and support required for success as a parent. The class is open to anyone on referral or through an application process at one of our centers.
Individual Class Tracks
|Active Parenting Now: Infant to Teen Curriculum||Our evidenced-based curriculum offered to a parent or a couple one time per week for six weeks. Goals are to help parent(s) understand active communication, appropriate discipline, building character, building child self-esteem, managing anger, and many other concepts. Videos, workbooks, and light homework are included. Staff can visit the home or provide the class at our center.|
Group Class Tracks
|Parenting Education & Family Life Skills||This is a 12 week course offered to a group of 8-12 parents. Curriculum includes six sessions of our Active Parenting Now and six sessions on life skills taught from a number of resources. Concepts include teaches active communication, appropriate discipline, building character, building child self-esteem, managing anger, budgeting, job skills, navigating healthcare and education for kids, & setting boundaries. Videos, workbooks, and light homework are included. Referral sources receive documentation of progress. Certificate provided upon graduation.|
