Empowering Families

Designed to Support

The main goal of this program is family preservation and reunification. When children are at-risk of entering foster care, we intervene to ensure their safety and address the risk factors.

Group Classes

SAFFT offers a 16-week course in a group setting to approximately 8-12 parents at our Family Life Centers. We utilize the evidence-based Nurturing Parenting® and TBRI® curricula to enhance parental capacity and strengthen families. Upon graduation, DFCS receives documentation of progress and a certificate is provided to parents upon graduation. Parents also form bonds with other parents with similar strengths and challenges, enhancing their protective factors via increased social supports.

Intensive In-home Family Sessions

A combination of family therapy, parenting skills training, life skills training, and behavior modification are offered multiple times per week. These interventions are delivered simultaneously by a clinician and a human services professional who works with the family primarily in their home multiple times per week. Interventions are provided at the family and individual levels to ensure all risk factors and concerns within the family system are addressed effectively. Each family’s progress is evaluated routinely to ensure the family’s treatment goals are met.

Another cool way to show your support

is by joining us in our #breakthecycle efforts to stop the generational cycle of child abuse and neglect! You may do so by purchasing a t-shirt here. At SAFFT, our highest priority is to protect and save neglected and abused children.

That is why we offer numerous programs and services that help facilitate healing within families recovering from the trauma of abuse. By purchasing a shirt, a portion of the profits come directly back to SAFFT and will allow us to serve more families.
